Down Syndrome Association Raises $100K+ via 2020 Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk
The Down Syndrome Association for Families (DSAF) of Nebraska (dsafnebraska.org) is grateful for its sponsors, who raised more than their goals of $100,000 in cash and in-kind donations through their 2020 Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk. More than 1,050 people registered and 800 people attended the outdoor, socially distanced event on October 10 at the Lancaster Event Center to raise money for DSAF causes. The donations will go toward enrichment outings, family networking, parent support and resources, new baby welcome baskets, educational training for medical professionals, monthly education series, and much more to enrich the lives of those with Down syndrome and their families. Year-end donations are still being accepted at dsafnebraska.org.
Highest-level sponsors—Shooting Star Sponsors—included Enable Savings Plan, Union Bank and Trust, and Global Down Syndrome Foundation, while Rising Star Sponsors included Children’s Hospital & Medical Center, and Nelnet+Allo. Nearly 50 other businesses also donated to the 2020 Step Up for Down Syndrome event, including Gold, Red, and Blue Star Sponsors, and DSAF is grateful to every one of them!
The Down Syndrome Association for Families formed in 1995 as a way for parents to network and share accomplishments of their children. The organization’s mission is to provide support and a positive vision for the future of individuals with Down syndrome and their families, friends, educators, and professionals who share in their lives.
