Home Care Partners, Nebraska LTC Pharmacy Create Dementia Workshops for Community
Karla Frese, managing partner of Home Care Partners (homecarepartnersofnebraska.com), is excited to announce a collaboration with Gayleen Bradley of Nebraska LTC Pharmacy to offer dementia workshops to the Lincoln community. “A Day in the Life, a Dementia Simulation Experience” is a free workshop experience available to the public, upon request, to improve and increase dementia education with a focus on improving care. This workshop addresses communication, caring for those aging with sensory deficits, and cognitive impairment through a simulation. The simulation uses exaggerated impairment to help us understand the verbal, physical, and mental challenges of those that caregivers serve, and how to adjust and adapt our healthcare approach when caring for patients with dementia.
“A Day in the Life” is highly valuable experience for those who are formal or informal caregivers, family members, healthcare organizations, support groups, local businesses that serve seniors, community groups, and houses of worship.
Home Care Partners delivers an affordable and comparable alternative to independent and assisted-living options, and additional support when needed for those already in a senior community.
