Ribbon Cutting Hosted at Lincoln Airport, LNK to Celebrate Return of Delta Airlines
The Lincoln Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting on June 25 at the Lincoln Airport (LNK, lincolnairport.com) to celebrate the return of Delta Airlines operated by SkyWest Airlines. The Lincoln Airport is optimistic about the return of Delta Airlines and is hoping that it’s a sign of things to come. Delta Airlines began flying again from Lincoln to Minneapolis back in May after shutting down operations at the airport last year due to the pandemic. Airport Executive Director David Haring stated that passenger numbers on the Minneapolis flight have exceeded both Delta’s and the airport’s expectations with planes at more than 80% occupancy. Rachel Barth, Lincoln Airport’s director of communications and customer engagement, stated that this is a big deal for the airport and passenger return. This is an exciting time for the Lincoln Airport after a rough year during COVID, and more passengers are beginning to return as restrictions ease and the pandemic weakens.
