Lincoln Arts Council Executive Director Deb Weber Announces Retirement After 20 Years

Deb Weber, executive director of the Lincoln Arts Council for the past 20 years, has announced her retirement effective November. Deb’s passion for art has helped create all that the Lincoln Art Council is today. In 2001, she brought the Lincoln Arts Festival to life, which has now become a premiere event in Lincoln that celebrates artists in the area and their work. Deb is also responsible for the creation of upstArt, a program that gives children, teenagers, and young adults access to the Arts, and for creating a partnership with LPS Pathfinder which works with incarcerated youth at the Lancaster County Youth Services Center. Deb worked with many public Art projects including Tour de Lincoln and Stories of Home, and also worked with four Lincoln Mayors during her tenure which have helped fuel the Arts in Lincoln.

In 1968, the Lincoln Arts Council began when a small group of community members gathered together with a common passion for the arts in Lincoln. With a mission of championing the arts, connecting people, and changing lives, the Lincoln Arts Council strives to create a community that offers rich arts opportunities for all.
