National Association of Women in Construction Enjoys a Busy Fall

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) (nawicomaha.com) has kept busy with numerous activities taking place this fall from October through December.

In October, NAWIC’s member companies Paynecrest Electric hosted and Edward’s Stone sponsored the chapter’s Pumpkins and Power Tools event. NAWIC members enjoyed learning about power tool safety while carving pumpkins using drill bits and power tools. In November, several NAWIC members marched in Bellevue’s Veterans Day Parade, and later in the month the Chapter installed its 2021-2022 Board of Directors. In their upcoming December meeting, members will participate in Catholic Charities adopt-a-family where they will come together to wrap dozens of donated gifts for four families. 2022 promises to be an exciting year for NAWIC as the chapter’s leadership has several activities planned.

National Association of Women in Construction Chapter #116 was first chartered in 1966 and has over 60 members working in businesses whose primary focus is construction. They host a variety of events that serve the community, provide scholarships to men and women pursuing careers in the construction industry via a college education or trade apprenticeship program, host educational Lunch-and-Learns for members, and more.
