The Junior League of Lincoln is celebrating 90 years and to mark that milestone is pledging $30,000 to Nebraska’s Centennial Mall revitalization project.

“The commemorative project – A Tribute to Tomorrow – helps the League celebrate 90 years of service to the community,” said Julie Rogers, the Junior League’s president.

The Junior League of Lincoln has a history and tradition of tributes – Pioneers Park and the Sheldon Museum of Art to the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, Children’s Museum and more. To continue with that tradition, the League is partnering with Nebraska’s Centennial Mall to revitalize the block between P and Q streets to include a Children’s Alcove near the Lincoln Children’s Museum, Rogers said.

The Junior League of Lincoln is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
