Jennifer Stuhmer Steps in as Interim Executive Director for Michelle Johnson at The Arc
Jennifer Stuhmer, the current vice president for The Arc of Lincoln (www.advocacypartnership.org), will be stepping in as interim executive director starting January 1 as Michelle Johnson will be leaving to work for Nebraska Department of Education. Jennifer and her husband Ryan have a son Damon who is 17 and lives with a significant disability. She has many years of experience advocating for families and individuals who experience a disability. Jennifer is also a substitute teacher with Lincoln Public Schools.
Michelle has been the executive director for four years and, before that, contracted with The Arc of Lincoln in The Arc Expeditions Program, where she supported around 80 adults who experience a disability to be able to travel all over the United States. During her time as executive director, she has worked and educated the community on inclusion and ensuring that all people are included in all areas of their community. Michelle will be taking a position with Nebraska Department of Education in Vocational Rehabilitation starting January 3. Michelle will continue to be an advocate on The Arc of Nebraska Board.
