Lincoln Human Resource Management Association (LHRMA, www.lincolnhr.org) will host the “Leadership Matters: Don’t Stop Believing” lunch at the Del Ray Ballroom of Del Ray 817 on October 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Help welcome Dr. Gausman, Lincoln Public School’s new superintendent, and hear him speak about the importance of leadership and education in today’s world.
Dr. Gausman joined Lincoln Public Schools as superintendent on July 1. Prior to coming to Lincoln, he was the superintendent for the Sioux City Community School District for 14 years. During that time, the school district saw significant gains in academic achievement and the graduation rate. In December, superintendents from across the nation elected Dr. Gausman as president of the Urban Superintendents Association of America. Dr. Gausman holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN; an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Sioux Falls; a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Nebraska at Omaha; and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
