Metro Gallery (MetroGalleryLincoln.com) in Lincoln has announced that they will be featuring artist Kinzee Hillis and her exhibit “New Year New Me” in January.
The “New Year New Me” exhibit will be on display during the First Friday reception on January 6 from 3 to 7 p.m. and during regular hours throughout January, Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 2 to 5 p.m.
“My art is whimsical and bold,” said Kinzee. “I use color to bring up emotions. I use abstract designs that reward close looking, giving viewers the opportunity to let their minds wander. It is important to me that people have something to both return to and get lost in.”
Later in the month, watch Hillis create her intricate art during the new “Evening with an Artist” gallery events Wednesdays from 4-6 p.m. on January 11, 18, 25, and February 1.
Established in 2012 in Lincoln’s Art district, Metro Gallery has grown from just a few hundred pieces to well over 4000 pieces at six locations. Their eclectic collection of art is not housed in a stuffy gallery where only the uptight are welcomed.
