The Lincoln Children’s Museum (www.lincolnchildrensmuseum.org) will begin hosting Sensory Sundays, a morning of play the third Sunday of every month, offered to families with children who would benefit from a sensory-friendly experience and quieter setting at the museum.

Families can look forward to this time to connect and make memories in exhibit spaces with lower lights, softer music, and sensory-friendly activities. Sensory kits will also be available for check-out that include noise-reducing headphones, fidgets, and more.

Executive Director Tara Knuth is happy to offer this opportunity for families.

“It’s important to us that the museum is a space for all children and their families. The environmental adjustments made to the building and exhibits for Sensory Sundays help to ensure children and their families can learn and explore in a comfortable and enjoyable space suited to their needs,” said Tara.

Sensory Sundays at the Lincoln Children’s Museum will occur the third Sunday of every month from 9 – 11 a.m. Admission will be half-price during this time, made possible by Bluestem Health and Enable Savings Plan. The museum will be open to the public from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on these Sundays as well.

The Lincoln Children’s Museum invites children to create, discover, and learn through their hands-on exhibits, day and summer camps, and learning programs. To learn more, visit www.lincolnchildrensmuseum.org.
