Lincoln City Libraries (foundationforlcl.org) invites children and adults to participate in the 2023 Summer Reading Challenge. Registration began May 26, but it’s not too late to join the fun!
The Summer Reading Challenge typically involves over 15,000 children, teens and adults. Each person who registers earns a free ticket to a Saltdogs game on Friday, June 9. The program rules are simple and easy to complete:
- Read for a total of ten hours
- Visit the library of your choice four times
- Complete eight reading activities Everyone who completes the challenge gets a ticket to the July 31
Summer Reading Challenge Recognition Night Saltdogs game and a coupon sheet for free and reduced-price food, as well as a chance to win prize packages donated from community partners, such as restaurants, book stores, coffee shops and more. Research has shown that reading in the summer months helps children return to school better prepared to learn in the fall. Teens and adults have more time to read in the summer and pursue their interests and goals. Reading aloud also creates strong bonds within the family and groups of friends, so invite your friends and family to join you!
