Alyssa Christensen, Groups/Prevention Coordinator at Voices of Hope (voicesofhopelincoln.org), is taking the lead on facilitating their Teen Healthy Relationship Group for youth that are either at risk of or have experience in unhealthy relationships. This group is co-facilitated with a school social worker. In this group, youth is involved in conversations about equality, the power and control wheel, boundaries, consent and more. Alyssa’s favorite part of leading this group is “allowing youth to express ways that relationships are modeled to them and how they can change those patterns.”
Teen Healthy Relationship Groups are held at East High School on Wednesday’s during school hours and will soon be available at Lincoln Southwest High School. For more information about the program, Alyssa can be reached at Alyssa@voicesofhopelincoln.org.
