Learning to drive is a significant milestone in a teenager’s life. It brings a sense of freedom and independence but also a tremendous level of responsibility. Ensuring that teen drivers receive proper education and training is crucial for their safety and the safety of others on the road. Studies show that participation in a driver education course leads to fewer crashes and violations.
The primary goal of driver education is to teach teens the rules of the road and safe driving practices. A structured driver education program provides a supportive environment where teens can gain confidence behind the wheel. The Nebraska Safety Council (NESC) (nesafetycouncil.org) is dedicated to the safety of all Nebraskans and provides a discount for members and their families to make driver education affordable.
“Our organization was founded to help keep Nebraskans safe on the road. Our driver education training program is a first step in developing the habits to be a safe, courteous and defensive driver,” says Executive Director, John Lefler, Jr.
Lefler encourages those wishing to participate in NESC Driver Training programs to visit the driving page at nesafetycouncil.org to learn more about member discounts and scholarships. To learn more and register, visit nesafetycouncil.org.
