. Kyle is responsible for managing their agency’s recruitment strategy and event preparations. Laura works with all the program staff to ensure they adhere to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA) standards of practice and have efficient procedures that ensure child safety and youth protection.
Kyle was first drawn to Big Brothers Big Sisters during his senior year at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Now, three years later, he’s still helping out in any way he can, directly improving the lives of youth and families in Lincoln. Laura originally worked at Big Brothers, Big Sisters in Hastings and loved the work and the mission of mentoring. An opportunity arose with the Lincoln agency where she’s served ever since.
Big Brothers Big Sisters thank Laura and Kyle for their time and dedication to the organization’s mission and hopes this is the start of many more years to come.
For 50 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As an affiliate of the nation’s largest donor-and-support mentoring network, they make meaningful matches between adult volunteers and children, ages seven through 16. They develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. Learn more at bbbslincoln.org.
