Beyond Tourism (goingbeyondtourism.com) offers consulting, coaching and workshops on cultural intelligence, also known as CQ. Cultural intelligence enables individuals and organizations to be successful in today’s multicultural, interconnected world. It’s the ability to function and relate effectively in culturally diverse situations.

Cultural intelligence is an incredibly important skill that you need to be a successful leader in a multicultural workplace. While working with Beyond Tourism, you will learn to identify your cultural preferences and behaviors, identify cultural behaviors in others, and how to adapt to cultural differences around you. Improving your CQ will connect you with your international employees, clients or colleagues for stronger trust and collaboration.

Renae Ninneman has a Master’s degree in Public Administration and has recently obtained certifications from The Cultural Intelligence Center.

Based on more than twenty years of research across over 100 countries, the CQ model assesses four capabilities to be developed in order to relate and work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

  1. CQ Drive is the level of a person’s interest, persistence and confidence to function in culturally diverse settings.
  2. CQ Knowledge is the level of a person’s understanding about how cultures are similar and how they are different.
  3. CQ Strategy is the degree to which a person plans for, remains aware during and checks after multicultural interactions.
  4. CQ Action is the extent of a person’s flexibility and appropriate use of a broad repertoire of behaviors and skills during multicultural encounters.

While working with Beyond Tourism, you will learn to identify your own cultural behaviors, understand how other cultures behave, and how you can adapt. For more information, contact Renae at renae@goingbeyondtourism.com or (402) 413-8948, or visit goingbeyondtourism.com.
