Meet Cody Arnold, the Terminal Services Manager at Lincoln Airport Authority (LincolnAirport.com).

Tell us a little about your business. – As the Airport Authority at LNK we strive to give passengers the best experience possible while coming through our airport. With the recent remodel and our continued efforts to get another air carrier in we hope to provide a vital service for Nebraskan’s. While we’re a small airport, we work hard every day to bring the best travel experience to our passengers.

How did you get started in the business? – I got started in the Airline Business in 2016 when I became a ground handler for an airline out of LAX. While there, I made my way up to Training Manager before deciding to make the move to LNK as the Terminal Services Manager.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – While I was a training manager at LAX we hired and trained roughly 120 new employees over the course of four months following COVID. This was a very stressful time and over the course of several months we were able to get everyone completed and out on their own.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – I would have to say my biggest turning point was deciding to leave LAX and finally make the move to Nebraska. My dad’s side of the family all lives out this way along with my sister and I finally jumped at the opportunity for a great job at LNK.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I’m what you would call a homebody, on my days off I love to just hang out and relax whenever possible.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – My teeth are in a dental journal somewhere. When I was a child I had a fused baby tooth, when my adult teeth came in, the exact same tooth was fused once again. Apparently it’s a rare thing to happen and my dentist at the time asked for permission to use me as an example in a journal she was working on.

Who inspires you? – Bob McNally, Director of Operations for the Lincoln Airport. Bob is a wealth of knowledge and is always willing to assist and offer guidance.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – Growing up, my father always told me something along the lines of, “People never have enough time to do it the first time, but always have time to do it a second”.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Dependable.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Somewhat close, but back when I lived in California I was working on getting my private pilot license. COVID hit and somewhat messed up those plans but I would have loved to have gotten the hours and become an airline pilot.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – Lately I’ve been helping my sister out when she fosters animals through BRAVE rescue here in Lincoln. They help dogs and cats find forever homes and is the reason I ended up with two cats.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – If you count an audio book, I recently finished The Sandman by Neil Gaiman. If you spend a lot of time in the car on a drive it’s an extremely good listen.
