Downtown Lincoln is experiencing an exciting resurgence with the addition of several new and unique spots. The downtown area has something for everyone, from dessert havens to custom apparel shops. These new establishments offer a variety of delicious treats, trendy fashion options and great entertainment, making them must-visit destinations for locals and visitors alike. Here are ten new businesses to visit!

1. Misfits on O

Located on Centennial Mall and O Street, Misfits on O replaced DP Dough, but don’t worry, the calzones are here to stay. They also serve bone-in and boneless wings. Enjoy a late-night snack at Misfits on O to satisfy that midnight craving. Misfits on O is open Tuesday and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Wednesday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m.

 

2. Sweet Things by Marcy

Sweet Things by Marcy is a new dessert spot that exemplifies Southern comfort. Founded by Marcy Haas in October 2020, it offers authentic Southern desserts, including banana pudding, Kentucky Butter Cake, peach cobbler and sweet potato pie.

With roots in Alabama, Haas ensures each dessert is a masterpiece of flavor and quality.

Sweet Things by Marcy is located on 14th and N Street and is open Monday, Tuesday and Saturday by appointment only and Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

3. Underground Printing

Underground Printing is a custom-designed apparel and promotional item print shop on 14th and P Street. It offers custom screen printing, embroidery and digital printing to suit anyone’s needs. No amount is too small. Whether one is looking for a single item for a birthday present or new swag for one’s business, look no further than Underground Printing.

Underground Printing is a licensed University of Nebraska Apparel Supplier and Greek-licensed vendor. It is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

 

 

4. RAYGUN

The Greatest Store in the Universe is now in Downtown Lincoln! RAYGUN opened its doors on 12th and P Street in early August. RAYGUN is more than just a t-shirt shop; pop culture-related tchotchkes, like pins, magnets and baby bibs, cover all surfaces. Dominating the Midwest with its tenth location, RAYGUN is open to ideas for those who envision a specific custom shirt. It is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

5. Status Haymarket

Status Haymarket strives to give authentic luxury handbags and accessories a second chance. Committed to selling the best in sustainable luxury, all handbags are certified by a third-party partner. It is located on Canopy Street and O Street.

Status Haymarket is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays through Fridays and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Stop in today!

6. Waffle Cone Haymarket

The Waffle Cone opened its doors at the beginning of the year. Sandwiched between 3 Daughters Boutique and Forever Faithful Boutique, it brings bright colors and flavorful ice cream to North 8th Street.

The Waffle Cone gets all of its sweet treats from Ashby’s Sterling Ice Cream, which is famous for its creamy, award-winning ice cream. The Waffle Cone changes its unique flavors monthly but keeps the classics like vanilla, chocolate and strawberry stocked at all times.

Look for the Ice Cream Nachos–three scoops of ice cream of your choice, waffle cone chips and any toppings they offer. These are the perfect items to order when you just can’t decide! On Sundays through Fridays, stop in between 12 and 10 p.m., and on Saturdays visit any time between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.

7. Tank’s Country

Tank’s Bar and Guitar opened a new location in the Railyard called Tank’s Country bar. Put on your cowboy boots, head down to the Railyard for drinks and enjoy live music and entertainment. Tank’s Country is the perfect place to tailgate.

Tank’s Country is open Monday through Thursday from 3 to 11 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 11 to 1 a.m.

8. Mama Bear Nutrition

Located on 13th and O Street, next door to Birria Boss, Mama Bear Nutrition brings nutrition, energy and community to Downtown Lincoln. It is a smoothie, tea and juice stop for body-conscious people. It offers healthy shakes to help energize one throughout the day. Mama Bear Nutrition is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is closed on Sundays.

9. Lil JJ Hooligan’s

Well-loved dive bar JJ Hooligan’s has added a new bar to their family, Lil JJ’s. Replacing DB Cooper’s Highjacker’s Lounge, Lil JJ’s is another take on the fan-favorite Haymarket bar it’s named after. Enjoy a vapor shot at either location. Located on 11th and L Street, Lil JJ’s is open daily from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.

10. Snack Korner

Snack Korner brings something to the table that no other restaurant downtown does, a ramen bar. One can choose his/her favorite ramen and ask for any toppings of choice. It’s the perfect place for an after-class snack. All ramen is imported from Korea, with ramen makers in-house. All you have to do is choose the package and add water.

Snack Korner offers a variety of unique snacks as well. It is the perfect one-stop shop for grabbing a meal on the go. Snack Korner is next to the Rococo Theatre on the corner of 13th and P Street. It is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
