Nebraska Diaper Bank (NDB) (nebraskadiaperbank.org) celebrated a major milestone by distributing its 8 millionth diaper to a mother in need at the Center For People in Lincoln. This special ceremony highlighted the organization’s efforts to address diaper need in the community and across the state.

Tegan Reed, Executive Director of Nebraska Diaper Bank, emphasized the impact of this achievement and the ongoing need for support to help families facing financial challenges. “We know there are 4,100 babies in Lincoln who need diapers. To meet that need, we would need to provide 3.2 million diapers just in Lancaster County,” said Reed.

Trinity, a mother of four, explained how crucial the diaper support has been for her family. “It’s just harder trying to keep up with diapers, especially with the prices and sometimes when you have to get the really cheap ones, it’s just not the best quality and can irritate my kids’ skin,” she shared.

Clean diapers are essential for the health and well-being of babies, yet many families struggle to afford them. Last year, NDB distributed over 2.8 million diapers to 10,784 babies, and they’re on track to distribute 3.4 million in 2024.

NDB has a high need for businesses to volunteer or host a diaper drive. Gather coworkers, collect diapers and raise awareness. Download the toolkit on Nebraska Diaper Bank’s website at nebraskadiaperbank.org.
