Since 1988, the Home Builders Association of Lincoln (HBAL) (hbal.org) has built wooden toys for local children in need. On November 9, HBAL members, families and friends gathered at Lincoln Northeast High School to build/ assemble 70 builder block sets. The sets will be donated to the Lincoln Police Union Charities and LPD officers will give them directly to children they encounter during the holidays.

HBAL’s annual Santa Cop Project is one of the many ways its members give back to the community. Funding for the project is provided by donations to the Lincoln Home Builders Care Foundation whose mission is to support the educational and charitable activities of HBAL. The Foundation contributes to community service projects focused on housing, providing scholarships for students pursuing a career related to the building industry and providing funding for other industry-related educational and research programs.

Since 2010, the Lincoln Home Builders Care Foundation has distributed over $377,000 through community projects and scholarships. You can learn more about HBAL and the Lincoln Home Builders Care Foundation at hbal.org.
