Earlier this year, we unveiled a new look for Lincoln. Our Life is Right campaign features a new logo, a new color scheme, and an overall upgrade to Lincoln’s coolness factor. Our goal since the beginning has been to capitalize on the forward momentum Lincoln has generated despite a downturn in the nation’s economy.

Now, we are beginning to roll-out more changes involving our branding campaign.

The changes start at www.lincoln.org. The website is the home of the Lincoln/Lancaster County Convention & Visitors Bureau. In addition to the overhaul of the site’s look, we’ve added new features as well:

Event categories – allow users to comb through events more efficiently by choosing event categories of interest.

Bucket Lists – visitors have the ability to create their own bucket lists of things to do ad see in Lincoln with the ability to share them    via Facebook or Twitter.

Food Trucks – a Twitter feed is featured on the inner pages of the site delivering up-to-the-second updates on where local food trucks are located throughout the day.

Shout Lincoln – a running feed from Lifeisright.com to showcase the latest positive sentiments from Lincolnites.

The freshening of Lincoln.org isn’t the only part of our branding campaign that is taking the digital world by storm. A new site was launched in the initial days of the unveiling of the brand. The site is www.lifeisright.com and it plays off the new tagline. Take a few minutes and surf the site, the personal testimonials about Lincoln and the beauty captured in the photos are phenomenal.

As a life-long Lincolnite, I know I sometimes overlook the things that make our community a stand-out for visitors and new residents.  When I read their stories and see the photos they take the time to up-load it brings me back and reminds me to appreciate everything that is positive here at home.

In an effort to keep the site flooded with new pictures and as a challenge all of our members, we are officially starting a photo contest as lifeisright.com. All you have to do is submit a photo that shows what you think makes life right in Lincoln. If you your photo makes the final cut and is published, you are automatically entered to win. Stay tuned to our weekly First Call newsletter for more details on what you could win.

It’s an exciting time to be in Lincoln, Nebraska and I am proud of the difference our business leaders are making in growing a first-class community. The Pinnacle Bank Arena opens in the fall of next year, new development will spring-up in areas once considered to be industrial wasteland and new jobs will be created. Life truly is Right here in the capital city.
