Sharetea will be your go-to summer drink spot. Iced teas, smoothies, and boba with real fruit juice will satisfy your thirst for a cool drink in these hot summer months.
Sharetea opened its doors in July 2022, located on 19th and K St. Owner Kim Le brought the first Sharetea location to Nebraska.
From the fruit jams to the boba pearls, all ingredients come from Taiwan and are made in-house.
Boba (also known as bubble) tea is a tea-based drink that originated in Taiwan in the early 1980s. Taiwanese immigrants brought it to the US in the 1990s, and its popularity has increased in recent years.
Boba tea is made of tea, milk, water, sugar, and tapioca pearls known as boba. Boba are edible balls of tapioca starch that often have a chewy texture.
There are over 150 Sharetea locations in the US and about 400 locations internationally. The Sharetea headquarters is in Taiwan.
“Everything comes from Taiwan,” Kim Le said. “[Sharetea] is known for its quality.”
All fruit drinks are made with natural fruit that has been turned into a jam to add to your beverage.
“We make everything fresh every day,” Le said. “Everything is made in-house.”
Le has always been passionate about tea and tapioca, but she first fell in love with Sharetea in Texas years ago. She ordered the mango passion fruit tea, and the rest is history.
“I knew I needed one back home,” Le said.
A standard drink among the students at Lincoln High is the Oreo Ice Blended drink. Many students will stop by after school gets out; Sharetea has been a hip hangout.
With its fun and colorful environment, Sharetea is a place to spend time with the whole family while cooling off this summer. Once school is back in session, it will continue to be a popular study spot.
If you don’t know where to start, Le recommends the Classic Pearl Black Milk Tea, a black tea with tapioca pearls and brown sugar.
Sharetea is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
