Events, Events, and More Events!
Do you know what I love? Events! So as you can imagine, I’m thrilled to see more and more events pop up around Lincoln as we emerge from the COVID social drought. Hearing that the Lincoln Chamber is resuming in-person events was a big deal. It’s so nice to see my calendar full of ribbon cuttings and networking opportunities again. Strictly Business adopted virtual networking for a stretch of time at the beginning of the pandemic, but then we were eager to get back into the swing of things for those who were comfortable attending. We wanted to continue supporting our local restaurant and bar industry with our Friends4Lunch and Friends4Drinks events. Other organizations have been offering in-person and hybrid events as well, such as the Lincoln Independent Business Association (LIBA), Center Sphere, etc. Plus, we’re seeing exciting concert/performance line-ups at the Pinnacle Bank Area, Lied Center, and other local venues again.
What is really great is all the nonprofits that are able to host their fundraisers again. So many organizations rely on the events they hold throughout the year to raise money for their mission. Strictly Business has a big place in our hearts for nonprofits—they do so much good for our community and cause real, positive change. A nonprofit that we have a special connection with is Domesti-PUPS. We partner with them each year to host our Party in the Garden Fundraiser in early fall. So if you haven’t already, mark your calendars for Friday, September 10. We’d love to have you join us for a night of delicious food, creative cocktails, beer on tap, local wines, a live and silent auction, live music and entertainment, and supporting an amazing cause, all in a beautiful outdoor setting. We have a handful of other upcoming events that we are hosting as well. If you haven’t attended our Friends4Lunch or Friends4Drinks events yet, please come to the next one! All local business professionals are welcome to attend. Friends4Lunch is held at 11:30 a.m. once a month at one of our restaurant client’s establishments. This month, we’ll be going to Asian Taste Thai Restaurant on Tuesday, June 8. In addition, Friends4Drinks is an after-hours event that we’ve hosted every other month but are starting to make it a monthly occurrence. This month we will gather at The Kindler’s beautiful lounge for drinks on the patio on Thursday, June 24. Both of these events are a great way to meet new people, promote your business, and strengthen connections within the community. Another “Save the Date” is the morning of Tuesday, June 22, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. when Strictly Business will host LIBA’s Coffee & Contacts. We hosted a coffee last year and had a blast! We’re always open to partnering with other organizations and businesses to do an event together. Our goal is to help foster connections. We do this in the magazine and through the events we host and attend. My team and I are very proud to be an active part of the Lincoln business community!
