It has been an incredible summer for the Lincoln community and our team at the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. In addition to partnering with the Greater Topeka Partnership to host nearly 120 business and community leaders in Boise for our first intercity visit in July, we also welcomed Nebraska’s Federal Congressional Delegation to our annual Federal Legislative Summit, united hundreds of interns for our successful summer MyTern program series, launched a new career progression resource to connect students, job seekers and businesses through a partnership with CareerPathway.com and continued our work to elevate the economic vitality of Lincoln.

And now, as we step into the fall season, we are thrilled to announce plans for our annual YP Week, hosted by the Lincoln Young Professionals Group, a program of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. Members of our Lincoln Young Professionals Group Leadership Council and Chamber staff have been busy outlining plans to unite hundreds of Lincoln’s young professionals for our annual YP Week this October. Throughout the week, young professionals will have the opportunity to engage in a series of events offering education and important connections to expand their professional networks as they continue building rewarding careers in Lincoln. This year’s YP Week will begin on October 7 with a kickoff luncheon featuring Lincoln Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Paul Gausman and will continue with other dynamic events, including a special YP edition of the Chamber’s recurring Face the Chamber events, featuring Clint! Runge of Archrival who will discuss the defining traits of various generations in the workplace.

Seven influential individuals and organizations will also be recognized at our 5th annual Young Lincoln Leader Awards Gala on October 10. Following a community-wide nomination process, we will applaud award winners in the following categories: Young Professional of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Diversity and Inclusion Excellence, Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Next Generation Workplace, Young Nonprofit Professional of the Year and Emerging Leader of the Year. Lincoln has an incredible network of young professionals, and our team is eager to connect with the attendees of YP Week this fall. I applaud the continued work of members of the Young Professionals Group Leadership Council, chaired by Alyssa Christensen of Family Service Lincoln, for their dedication to cultivating exceptional programming for Lincoln’s YPs. With recurring monthly networking and educational opportunities, YPG is a powerful outlet that offers valuable resources and connections for Lincoln’s dynamic base of young professionals. Thank you for joining us in supporting the talented future leaders of Lincoln’s vibrant business community.
