Lincoln is incredibly fortunate to have a strong history of remarkable women in our business community and the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce is proud to champion programs like RISE and Women in Business to support their continued success. Together, these programs offer unique opportunities for women to build powerful connections, engage in meaningful conversations and gather valuable insights to elevate their professional growth. I am so proud of the business community’s ongoing support of these programs and am excited to announce plans for our 2025 Women in Business event coming up later this spring.

Building on the success of last year’s event, which united nearly 500 attendees, Women in Business 2025 is scheduled for Thursday, May 1 from 1 – 5 pm at the Rococo Theatre. Hosted in partnership with the University of Nebraska – Lincoln College of Business, this highly anticipated event will welcome Victoria Labalme as our featured speaker. Victoria is a Wall Street Journal bestselling author, Hall of Fame speaker and high-performance strategist, renowned for her ability to help individuals elevate their ability to collaborate, communicate and connect in meaningful ways. Her insights will provide valuable strategies for women looking to advance in their careers, strengthen their leadership skills and harness their unique strengths for long-term success.

Victoria’s keynote will continue an impressive lineup of Women in Business speakers throughout the years, including our most recent featured speakers, Kindra Hall (2024) and Cassandra Worthy (2023). I am immensely grateful for the continued support of the JoAnn Martin Leadership Legacy Endowment, which enables our team to present speakers of this caliber to our Women in Business attendees in honor of JoAnn Martin’s unparalleled leadership.

In addition to Victoria’s keynote address, this year’s event will also feature an interactive panel discussion of influential business leaders who will explore the transformative impact of mentorship. This panel will highlight real-world experiences, while also offering practical advice on how women can elevate one another in their professional journeys. Mentorship is a powerful tool, and this event is the perfect platform to highlight its significant role in professional development and how it can impact future generations of leadership.

Women in Business is more than just an afternoon event—it is a catalyst for inspiration, connection and empowerment. Whether you are an entrepreneur, business leader, emerging professional or small business owner, I encourage you to join us on May 1 for this highly anticipated event.
