Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska (CSS, csshope.org) is pleased to announce that the 2nd Annual Walk to End Hunger will be held Sunday, August 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. This year’s event will once again be held at the Pius X High School track at 60th and A Streets, and BetterLife Lodge 426 and Knights of Columbus Council #13576 will be co-sponsoring the event. All food and monetary donations will go to support the Food Market program of CSS.

Food items and monetary donations will be collected during the event. You may choose the amount of time or laps you would like to walk around the track, or just come cheer on those who are walking. There will be food and refreshments available, and speakers will include James D. Conley, bishop of Lincoln, Lt. Governor Mike Foley, and Katie Patrick, CSS executive director. Last year’s inaugural event raised over $8,300 and more than 3,100 pounds of food for the CSS Food Market. This year’s goal is to raise 15,000 combined dollars and pounds of food.
