A Novel Idea Bookstore, located in downtown Lincoln at 118 N. 14th Street, will celebrate 20 Years in business with a two-day event on Friday, September 16th & Saturday, September 17th.

Cinnamon Dokken, founder and owner of A Novel Idea Bookstore, says the store’s success is due to community involvement, personal service, great selection – and, of course, the resident shop cats.

Drawings, deals and giveaways are on the agenda for the 20th Anniversary Celebration. Prizes include Signed First Editions of books by Patricia Cornwell, P.D. James, John Sandford and Susan Vreeland, leather bound art books, leather bound copies of The Last of the Mohicans and Great Expectations, as well as book bags, notecards and gift certificates. There will also be entertainment on Saturday, September 17th. Nickie Calhoun will doing face painting for kids at 1pm. Chicago musician Mike Semrad will play “bluegrass with a side of folk” music at 2pm. The belly dancing troupe Ouvert Dance Company will perform at 4:15 and 4:45
