BCC Announces 2nd Annual Free Book Fair April 19 – 20, Welcomes Book Donations
The Belmont Community Center (BCC, belmontcommunitycenter.org) is preparing for their 2nd Annual Free Book Fair set for April 19 – 20. The BCC invites kids and families to stop by and pick out books to be added to their home libraries!
The BCC Free Book Fair began in 2021 after various community partners donated boxes of books to the center. The BCC staff wanted to get books into the hands and homes of kids, so they spent weeks sorting books by reading level and preparing for a big giveaway. Siblings, parents, and kids from neighboring programs were all invited to participate. Children were encouraged and excited to hand-pick books that fi t their personal interests. During the first ever BCC Free Book Fair, over 400 books were given away, and each child walked away with 3-10 books depending on reading level and supply.
Donations for new or gently used books can be brought to the BCC at 3335 N 12th St. on weekdays from 6:30 a.m. – 5:45 p.m. Books can be for ages birth through teenage. Any books dropped off after Friday, April 15 will be stored and saved for next year.
