Breakthrough T1D Shares Information for Next Summer’s Children’s Congress

Breakthrough T1D (breakthrought1d.org) Children’s Congress will be held next summer and our Advocacy Team is hosting a virtual informational session on Thursday, August 13th at 6PM CT. This session will cover how to apply and what to expect at the event if selected.

Every two years, more than 160 children with type 1 diabetes (T1D) between the ages of 4 – 17 gather in Washington, D.C., to meet faceto-face with some of the top decision-makers in the U.S. Government. The selected Delegates represent all 50 states and the District of Columbia, as well as Breakthrough T1D’s fi ve International Affiliates.

As participants in Breakthrough T1D Children’s Congress, Delegates have a unique and empowering opportunity to help Members of Congress understand what life with T1D is like, while forming lasting bonds with fellow youth who live with this autoimmune disease.
