In May, Lincoln Airport Authority (lincolnairport.com) proudly completed their two- year terminal renovation project, celebrating with a public Open House and ribbon-cutting ceremony. This transformation has not only modernized LNK but also enabled the expansion of programs like their community tours.

Throughout the year, LNK has hosted well over 20 tours for community groups ranging from daycares and summer camps to Lincoln Public School’s Aviation Student Program and the Nebraska Center for the Education of Children Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired. Each tour was carefully tailored to its audience, offering participants a unique and engaging glimpse into the world of aviation and aviation careers. The success of this program has inspired them to grow and enhance these tours with the goal of inspiring the next generation to consider a career field in aviation and of course educate our community about LNK Airport.

Another highlight was the LNK Outdoor Movie Series. The season concluded in October with a Halloween-themed finale that featured a trunk-or-treat event and screening of Hocus Pocus. With over 1,600 attendees, it was truly a magical night to remember. These movie nights strengthened their relationships with local vendors, organizations and non-profits while creating a fun, family-friendly space for the community that over 9,000 enjoyed throughout the summer. They look forward to kicking off the series again in May 2025!

As Lincoln continues to thrive, they take pride in actively supporting our community through meaningful partnerships and collaborations. This year, they proudly sponsored the 2024 Good Life Halfsy, a nationally recognized half-marathon that brought over 7,000 runners to the city. And as the Official Airport of the Huskers, they further strengthened community ties through engaging giveaways and initiatives to sporting events, highlighting their dedication and love of the Huskers.
