Beyond Vision LNK – NeuroVision of Nebraska (BeyondVisionLNK.com) is encouraging schools, parents and community leaders to recognize the important role vision plays in student success by increasing eye health education throughout Nebraska’s K–12 schools.
Dr. Carla Ericksen, owner of Beyond Vision LNK, recently published an educational article highlighting the need for greater awareness of functional vision problems that often go undetected during standard school vision screenings. While many students pass a basic vision screening, conditions such as binocular vision dysfunction and other visual skills disorders can still interfere with reading, learning, attention and overall classroom performance.
Through its ongoing community education efforts, Beyond Vision LNK hopes to help families better understand the difference between a vision screening and a comprehensive eye examination, allowing children with hidden vision challenges to be identified earlier and connected with appropriate care.
“Our mission has always been to help patients improve their quality of life through better vision,” said Dr. Carla Ericksen. “By increasing eye health education, we can empower parents and educators to recognize potential vision-related barriers to learning and ensure children receive the care they need to reach their full potential.”
Beyond Vision LNK – NeuroVision of Nebraska specializes in comprehensive eye care, NeuroVision evaluations, binocular vision dysfunction (BVD), pediatric vision care, concussion-related vision rehabilitation, and vision therapy.
