Biggerstaff Plumbing, Heating & Air Congratulates PHCC Auxiliary of Nebraska
As a member contractor of the Plumbing Heating and Cooling Contractors (PHCC) Auxiliary of Nebraska, Biggerstaff Plumbing, Heating & Air (www.biggerstaffs.com) would like to extend their congratulations to the Auxiliary for receiving first and second place for the Robert Cox Humanitarian Awards. These awards were presented at the PHCC Association’s National Convention, which was held October 2–4 in Indianapolis. In addition, Barbara Kreifel with PHCC Auxiliary of Nebraska received the two top individual Auxiliary awards: The Larry Dore Member of the Year Award and the 3D Copper Platter Award. These awards recognize a member’s outstanding contribution to the PHCC Association, the plumbing-heating-cooling industry, and the community.
Biggerstaff supports the work PHCC does for the industry, and their employees are active members in the Auxiliary. In fact, Dusty Thoms with Biggerstaff has served as vice president on the 2018-19 executive board of the PHCC Auxiliary of Nebraska.
The Auxiliary is involved with a variety of local volunteer and community outreach events. They supplied gift cards and welcome baskets to veterans staying in the OVER House, bought Christmas gifts for children at Jacob’s Well, created Easter Baskets for children receiving services at Friendship Home, and made summer fun baskets for the Student Parent program at a local high school. In addition, they collected tools, literature and promotional merchandise for thank you bags distributed at the annual Nebraska Skills USA contest. Auxiliary members also teamed up with Southeast Community College to launch the school’s first-ever plumbing program. Students enrolled will be able to receive one year’s worth of credit towards an apprentice license in just two semesters.
