BikeLNK Celebrates 1-Year Anniversary, Completes Artistic Bicycle Station

BikeLNK, a Lincoln-based bicycle share service affiliated with BCycle, just celebrated its first year of operation on April 20. In addition, BikeLNK has announced expansions on its older stations and a new station that will double as a community-driven art project.

The station at 14th and R St., outside of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Student Union, has been expanded. Formerly eight docks, the station now has 17 docks and is the first double-sided station in the system. This station is the most popular in the BikeLNK system and was previously the smallest station. Along with the expansion of the 14th and R station, the installation process for the community art station began in April in front of the F Street Community Center. This station will have a completely different look than BikeLNK’s typical grey docks, as local Lincoln artists were commissioned to paint the docks based on designs created by Lincoln Public School children.

The BikeLNK bike sharing system allows people to rent bicycles for a small fee, with plans available for both regular and occasional bicyclers. You can learn more about Lincoln’s bicycle rental service at BikeLNK.bcycle.com, and follow their Facebook and Instagram accounts for news (@BikeLNK). As always, BikeLNK encourages you to utilize the BCycle App to check the system before you ride.
