This year, Tobacco Free Lancaster County (TFLC) (tobaccofreelancastercounty.org) is expanding the celebration. Instead of focusing solely on GASO Day/Week, they will be observing Quit Tobacco Week during Nov. 17–21, with GASO Day on Nov. 20, falling right in the middle of the week.

Quit Tobacco Week is designed to:

  • Raise awareness about all tobacco and nicotine products, including vapes, pouches, and more – not just cigarettes.
  • Encourage participation from a wide range of groups, people who use tobacco and those who do not, youth, young adults, families, teachers, faith-based organizations, and cultural centers.
  • Highlight other less commonly mentioned impacts of tobacco use such as hazardous waste from vape devices, nicotine juice poisoning, fire hazards for multi-unit houses, etc.
  • Provide practical, actionable steps that individuals, groups, and organizations can take to prevent tobacco use, educate others, and support quitting.

TFLC offers free educational and promotional materials in both digital and print formats, to help make your Quit Tobacco Week and GASO Day events a success.
