This past July, Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest (commonwealthelectric.com) held their first annual Summer Summit event following the launch of their companywide internship program! The Summer Summit is a two-day event held each year at the Commonwealth Electric Corporate office. The event included an escape room social outing for all of the interns and their mentors, discussions with members of the leadership team, and a presentation by each of the interns to the Commonwealth Electric leadership team outlining what they learned, what they found most valuable, and how they plan to take what they learned and apply to future growth in their career.

At the root of this event, the hope is that all participants—both interns and leadership team—are able to see the growth and development that has occurred within the internship class over the course of the summer.

Commonwealth’s five interns who participated in the new program this year represent a variety of departments, including engineering, information technology, accounting, and construction management. Commonwealth plans to continue fostering the growth of the internship program throughout the next year, so the next Summer Summit can be just as great as the first!

Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest is a 100% employee-owned, full-service electrical, and low voltage specialty contractor.
