During the upcoming Winter Term (Jan. 20–March 2), she will again offer Gentle Yoga on Wednesdays at 9 a.m. and Chair Yoga at 10 a.m. In addition to her ongoing classes, Dr. Casey will present a special hybrid lecture, “Gait Speed: The 6th Vital Sign,”on February 25, 2026, at 3 p.m. Participants may attend either in person or online.
This engaging session is designed for individuals ages 50 and older who want to better understand how everyday mobility impacts long-term health. Attendees will learn how gait speed can help identify fall risk and overall functional strength, and why proactive wellness can reduce the likelihood of health problems later. Each participant will also have the opportunity to receive a simple, individualized gait speed assessment. Dr. Casey remains passionate about giving people practical tools to support healthy aging, avoid preventable injuries, and maintain independence for years to come.
