E-Response Now Available for Nebraska Unemployment Insurance
Employers involved in unemployment claims can now respond online to requests for separation information from the Nebraska Department of Labor (dol.nebraska.gov/SIDES).
Once signed up for E-Response, employers receive email requests for information, with no paper form required. Responses are submitted through the secure SIDES (State Information Data Exchange) website. Employers can sign up for E-Response by logging in at dol.nebraska.gov/UIConnect, clicking the Benefit Center tab, and entering an email address for separation requests. The contact email can be updated at any time through the UIConnect account.
There is no charge to employers for switching to E-Response. Over 1,500 employers have gone paperless so far. “The real beauty of it is that the separation requests come via email, so I can check my email and see that I have responses to complete,” said Laura Pavalis, Director of Human Resources Services for CFO Systems in Omaha. “The online form is actually a breeze to complete. It’s much easier than the paper form ever was. It has an orderly flow to it and you can move backwards and forwards while you’re in the form. It’s far easier than the manual system ever was—no more filling in the tiny little boxes.”
Responding within 10 days is required in order for employers involved in unemployment claims to keep their appeal rights. To learn more about Nebraska Department of Labor’s E-Response for unemployment insurance requests and watch a how-to video, visit dol.nebraska.gov/SIDES.
