On July 23, 2026 FiftyOne Commons celebrated their new development in Northeast Lincoln with help from Cheever Construction (cheeverconstruction.com). The development includes eight affordable rowhouse rentals, a community garden and the STEAM Activity Center.
The new Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) Activity Center at FiftyOne Commons completes a one-of-a-kind neighborhood development that co-locates educational opportunities for young people and families. The center is designed to offer youth programming and features a gym, makerspace, classrooms,
a computer lab and more.
“The City of Lincoln was proud to support FiftyOne Commons with our Affordable Housing Fund,” said Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird. “Meeting children who now live in one of the rowhouses and learning that their mom is excited to volunteer at the STEAM Center left my heart feeling very full about this project and the way it is already building opportunity and community.”
A long list of generous Lincolnites, businesses and philanthropic organizations gave their time, expertise, and resources to this project. For more information visit Fiftyonecommons.org or cheeverconstruction.com.
