First National Bank Awards Community Development Grant to City Impact

First National Bank (www.fnbo.com) recently announced its final round of community development grant recipients for 2018, including a $10,000 grant to City Impact in Lincoln. The grants support programs focused on educated workforce initiatives that will help strengthen individual core competencies and lead to improving personal economic self-sufficiency.

City Impact empowers under-resourced communities through wholistic youth, family, and neighborhood development. The grant from First National Bank will be used to promote literacy in Title I schools in the Lincoln area.

First National Bank awarded a total of $1,870,000 in community development grants in 2018 to 98 organizations across its seven-state service area. With its final disbursement of grant funding for the year, First National Bank awarded $698,000 in community development grants to 30 organizations in Nebraska. Grants supporting educated workforce initiatives will enable a projected 19,000 individuals in Nebraska to move closer to self-sufficiency.
