FNBO (https://www.fnbo.com) believes every family deserves a safe and affordable place to call home. That belief drives the bank’s ongoing commitment to increasing access to affordable housing in every community it serves.
As part of that commitment, 15 employees from FNBO and FNIC recently spent a full day volunteering at a Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln construction site, donating 105 hours to hang doors, install hardware and clean up the yard.
“A lack of affordable housing is something we hear about constantly across our FNBO communities,” said Betsy Vrba, Commercial Payments Advisor at FNBO. “The need is real, and FNBO is passionate about supporting Habitat’s work because we understand the impact it can make.”
Vrba has participated in Habitat builds for several years and says the experience is rewarding not just for the community, but also for employees.
“Volunteering with Habitat is an incredible team-building opportunity,” she said. “You’re problem-solving together, learning new skills and relying on each other in a totally different environment.”
The team has partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln for more than six years, and this effort is just one example of FNBO’s broader commitment to community service.
Across all locations, FNBO employees contributed more than 28,000 volunteer hours in 2024. From construction sites to classrooms, the bank’s service culture continues to strengthen the communities it calls home.
