The Women in Aviation International – Cornhusker Chapter invites the community to its 4th Annual Girls in Aviation Day on Sunday, Sept. 20, from 1 – 3 p.m. at Duncan Aviation Hangar B (1761 W. Kearney Ave., Lincoln).
Hosted in partnership with the Lincoln Airport Authority (lincolnairport.com), Duncan Aviation, and many of Lincoln Airport’s aviation tenants and industry partners, this free event is designed to introduce girls and young women to the exciting world of aviation while inspiring the next generation of pilots, engineers, mechanics, air traffic controllers, airport leaders and aerospace professionals.
Attendees will enjoy an afternoon fi lled with aircraft displays, hands on activities, interactive exhibits, opportunities to meet local aviation professionals and a special guest speaker. Whether attendees dream of flying, building aircraft or leading the future of aviation, Girls in Aviation Day offers a unique opportunity to explore the many career paths available in the industry.
Now in its fourth year, the event has become one of the Lincoln area’s premier aviation outreach events, bringing together airport businesses, volunteers, educators and aviation organizations dedicated to inspiring the next generation.
“Girls in Aviation Day is about showing young people that aviation has a place for everyone,” said Rachel Barth, President of the Women in Aviation Cornhusker Chapter. “Whether their passion is flying, engineering, maintenance, technology or airport operations, we hope every attendee leaves inspired and excited about the possibilities.”
