The Home Builders Association of Lincoln’s (hbal.org) Santa Cop Project is planned for Saturday, November 15, beginning at 8 a.m., at Lincoln Northeast High School. This annual event brings together HBAL members, their families and community volunteers to build wooden toys that will be gifted to children in need by the Lincoln Police Department
Over the decades, HBAL members have built over 2,200 toys for the program. “This is one of our most rewarding traditions,” said Dan Loeck.
The toys produced will be distributed by Lincoln Police officers to children they encounter who could use extra cheer during the holiday season. HBAL members are encouraged to bring their families as Santa Claus is scheduled to make an appearance at 9 a.m. It is also a fun opportunity for students to earn service hours. Participation helps further the mission of the Lincoln Home Builders Care Foundation; supporting charitable and educational causes related to housing and community wellbeing.
