Home Care Partners (homecarepartners.com) is proud to announce that owner Karla Frese was selected to represent Nebraska at the Parkinson’s Policy Forum in Washington, D.C. The national gathering brought together 250 advocates from 47 states to amplify the voices of the Parkinson’s community on Capitol Hill.
Parkinson’s disease is the fastest-growing neurological condition in the world, affecting nearly one million Americans, with 90,000 new diagnoses each year. That number is expected to double by 2040. Every six minutes, someone is diagnosed with Parkinson’s, yet it remains one of the least understood and most underfunded brain diseases.
During the Forum, Frese met with lawmakers to highlight the real impact Parkinson’s has on families and to advocate for policies that help people with Parkinson’s age safely and independently at home.
“Families want to stay in their forever homes,” Frese said. “With the right care, resources and advocacy, we can make that possible, not just in Nebraska, but across the nation.”
Recognized as Nebraska’s Parkinson’s Care Experts, Home Care Partners provides specialized in-home support focused on symptom management, fall prevention, mobility and quality of life. Frese’s leadership and certification as a Parkinson’s Care Educator have positioned the company among the Parkinson’s Champions in Washington, D.C.
