Hunt Irrigation, Inc. (facebook.com/huntirrigationinc) The Water Smart Company installed a three-zone, low-volume drip irrigation system with a rain sensor on June 29. This system will apply water on an hourly basis and will use 40% less water to maintain its beautiful landscape compared to a traditional “spray type” irrigation system.
Drip irrigation increases its effectiveness by applying the water at the base of the plant, ensuring that as plants mature, they continue to receive the appropriate amount of water. The automatic rain sensor will ensure that this system will not water after a rain event, saving thousands of gallons of water each season now and into the future.
