JoSi Events (josievents.com), Lincoln’s newest women-owned event planning business, will host a fundraiser—A Night at the Speakeasy with ShelterMe—on Thursday, December 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. at The 1206 in Crete. As the name implies, the event will be 1920s themed! There will be raffles with prizes donated from various businesses in Nebraska and a grand prize for the person who is deemed the “best dressed” in their finest 1920s attire. There will also be appetizers from Yes Chef donated by Off Leash Dog Bar, Chef au Chef, and Parthenon. JoSi Events’ Co-owner Sidney Parks will even give a brief lesson on how to dance the Charleston so attendees can truly party the night away in true 20s fashion! Tickets are available on Eventbrite for $10 each or a table of six can be reserved for $50.

ShelterMe Nebraska provides safe and secure housing for the victims of domestic violence and their companion animals. A companion animal can often become a tool for an abusive partner to hold power and control in the relationship. If contemplating leaving a bad relationship, the question of what will happen to a companion animal can become an important deciding factor. ShelterMe Nebraska is committed to treating every victim and companion animal with respect and dignity by providing rehabilitative services.

JoSi Events was started by Jordan Kempkes and Sidney Parks, who met while serving together. Being in the restaurant industry made them fall in love with event planning. They are excited about making someone’s big day easy and pain-free. To learn more, visit josievents.com or email letusparty@josievents.com.
