Kinetic by Windstream Helps Rural Families Improve Remote Access to Work and School 

As plans are announced for back to school this fall, many families in remote areas are looking to Kinetic by Windstream (windstream.com) to create a backup plan to continue work and school from home. Thousands of families have access to high-speed internet in rural areas of Nebraska, thanks to new fixed wireless installations from Kinetic by Windstream. 

Fixed wireless is a newer technology that delivers internet using a wireless antenna to connect two or more fixed locations by radio frequency instead of using cable. Similar to cell towers, fixed wireless technology employs a high mounted pole equipped with a base station to transmit signals. A series of poles and base stations then relay the broadband internet signal to homes. Fixed wireless eliminates certain problems that can affect satellite or cable internet, without as much maintenance and better speeds at competitive rates. 

Since January, Kinetic by Windstream has turned up fixed wireless solutions in Hickman, Hansen, Nebraska City, Waco, York, and other cities. More than 2,300 homes now have access to faster speeds for remote work and school, and streaming of videos and games. More sites will be going online in the coming months.
