The Lincoln Airport Authority (lincolnairport.com) announced that United Ground Express (UGE) at Lincoln Airport (LNK) has earned the Gold Safety Excellence Award, a major milestone in United Airlines’ Safety Excellence program.

Out of 174 regional line stations nationwide, LNK is only the second to achieve this level, highlighting its exceptional commitment to safe operations and teamwork.

The award reflects a remarkable safety record:

  • 200 days without an OSHA-recordable incident
  • 259 days without a lost-time injury
  • Zero aircraft incidents since UGE began services at LNK in 2016

The Lincoln station has also ranked at the top of United’s “Balanced Scorecard,” demonstrating strength in ramp operations, customer service and overall station performance.

The recognition was celebrated with United and UGE leaders, who commended General Manager Jacque Hanson and her team. Special recognition went to Compliance Coordinator Gail Daubendiek, along with Qualified Instructors and Leads: Deb McKenzie, Taylor Cherry, Karla Dimas, John Sanks, Beth King, Bonnie Fuss, Keshia Moore, Kelly Petersen, Nathan Enriquez, and relief leads Bernice Gosda and Matthew Dittoe.

“This Gold Safety Excellence Award is not just about past accomplishments—it reflects the culture of safety and service that defines our Lincoln operation,” Hanson said. “We are grateful for the collaboration of United Ground Express, Duncan Aviation and the supportive Lincoln Airport community.”

Looking ahead, LNK aims for Platinum-level recognition within United’s Safety Program and participation in the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), which allows stations to influence safety practices systemwide.

“Safety is the foundation of everything we do, and our passengers are always our top priority,” said Rachel Barth, Director of Marketing and Air Service Development.
