Lincoln Children’s Zoo’s Largest Expansion Opened May 10

“A New Zoo Experience,” the newest addition to Lincoln Children’s Zoo (www.lincolnzoo.org), opened May 10 to the general public. The newest $23-million expansion is centered around conservation. The expansion added many interactive exhibits like a world-class giraffe feeding experience, an up-close tiger encounter, an indoor adventure area where children can climb with monkeys, and a plaza with a splash stream.

The Lincoln Children’s Zoo cares for over 400 creatures including snow leopards, red pandas, penguins, ring-tailed lemurs, camels, and alligators. They are committed to animal conservation efforts that save animals from extinction. The zoo partners with organizations throughout the world that manage captive and wild animals with a goal to create a plan to ensure endangered animals are protected.
