The Lincoln Stars are a Tier I ice hockey team in the United States Hockey League (USHL). The USHL is the only top-tier junior hockey league in the United States and is sanctioned by USA Hockey. The league consists of 16 teams across the Midwest and features players ages 16 to 20. As a strictly amateur league, the league allows former players to compete in NCAA collegiate hockey. Established in 1996, the Stars compete in the Western Conference and play home games at the Ice Box on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln campus, a 4,321-seat multi-purpose arena.
