Lincoln software studio CodeBuddy (codebuddy.com) (33rd & Nebraska Parkway) has launched an initiative to help local small businesses replace expensive SaaS subscriptions with owned, custom software.
Historically serving an international clientele, CodeBuddy is bringing its technology home with structured support, training and upcoming business hackathons. This program trains non-technical employees to build and maintain custom internal tools in-house.
“Historically, custom software took $500,000 and 18 months, forcing businesses into generic subscriptions,” said Devon Seacrest, CEO. “With our platform and human engineering, businesses can build custom assets in 1 to 8 weeks for $15,000 to $50,000. Now, we’re training local teams to manage these systems.”
Founded in 2019, CodeBuddy combines AI speed with human oversight. Unlike fragile “vibe coding” alternatives, its “spec-driven” approach focuses on thorough planning to ensure long-term stability. CodeBuddy also fully funds custom software for three non-profits annually.
