Lincoln has been confirmed as the host city for the 2026 WIAWIS USA Archery JOAD Target Nationals (usarchery.org) and JOAD U.S. Open, set to take place July 23-26 at the Lincoln Sports Foundation.
The venue, located on more than 100 acres with 60 professionally maintained fields, will welcome top young archers competing in barebow, compound, fixed pins and recurve divisions. The Lincoln Sports Foundation caters to both indoor and outdoor events, offering an ideal setting for the national competition.
USA Archery CEO Rod Menzer expressed enthusiasm for the event: “We’re really looking forward to it. It’s a college town and a winning town. Our athletes will experience Husker hospitality, and this event keeps getting bigger and bigger.”
Derek Bombeck, director of sports for Visit Lincoln, added, “We’re excited to bring the JOAD Target Nationals and U.S. Open to Lincoln. We have a great community in the heart of the U.S. and a fantastic facility. We want to create a unique experience that makes everyone want to return year after year.”
The 2025 JOAD Target Nationals and U.S. Open are currently underway in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Menzer praised the host city’s exceptional hospitality. “Lincoln has quite the act to follow but they’re up for the task,” he said.
